Starting a round
Currently offered as a free test. Availability depends on your host and the actual connection status.
- Enable Got You! in a supported host where you have private-test access. Ask your AI to create a room, or give it your friend’s room code.
- After matching, enter the character your friend will guess and check the exact identity with your own AI. Preparation lasts 45 seconds; the match is cancelled if both players are not ready.
- Review the name, identity and real/fictional status, then press Ready yourself. Your AI does not lock the character for you.
- Ask a question or make a guess in your own conversation. Confirm the exact wording to send. Your opponent’s AI answers using the character they locked.
- Exchange cards after the whole round is settled. The first version uses invitation codes rather than random matchmaking.
Game identity, connection and AI replies
When your host needs to connect to the game service, it opens an authorization page. You choose to create a guest game identity or use the identity already in that browser, then personally confirm authorization. No real email address or password registration is required. This is neither an OpenAI account sign-in nor real-world identity verification. Players need different game identities. Clearing browser data may prevent recovery of the original identity and rooms.
The game view is not an independently running AI. Your host must actually schedule a model turn to handle an identity check, an incoming question or card preparation. In your game conversation, try “Process my Got You! tasks.” Without a model connection, the service will not pretend to have made a judgment.
Why each player needs an independent connection
Each secret character belongs in its own player’s AI context. Two ordinary browser tabs may share an identity. During testing, use separate profiles, browsers or a private window and verify that the two players occupy seats A and B. Do not share a private pairing code as though it were a room invitation code.
Do I need to buy extra API credit?
The current design uses each player’s own ChatGPT conversation rather than an extra central referee model. Got You! does not ask for an API key. Your AI messages and tool use remain subject to your host’s allowance, feature access and terms.
Report translation, fact or display problems
You can choose “Report a problem” in the game. Review your report before submitting it. Describe what happened and what you expected. The report additionally includes only the product version, interface language and game stage; it does not automatically attach full chats, secret characters, room codes or identity credentials. Keep the report ID for follow-up.
